Williams joined the UMass Lowell Athletic Healthcare staff in October 2016 as an Associate Athletic Trainer and was named the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance in August 2021 and joined the Department’s Senior Leadership Team. She was then promoted to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance in January 2024.    As the department administrator, Williams is the Athletics Healthcare Administrator and oversees 7 certified athletic trainers, a licensed mental health counselor and registered dietitian. Prior to taking over the UML Athletic Healthcare department, Williams was responsible for the healthcare of the women’s basketball program and now serves as the certified athletic trainer for the field hockey and track & field teams. 

Since joining UML, Williams has spearheaded the department’s mental health initiatives and has continued to foster the growth of the holistic approach to student athlete healthcare with the development of the Student-Athlete Wellness Advancement Team (SWAT), creating partnerships with local chiropractor office, OrthoLazer clinic, and Shields MRI. She is a member of the America East Health, Safety, and Performance Committee, and is currently serving as Chair in the 2025-2026 academic year. UML Athletic Healthcare hosted the 2025 AE Health, Safety, and Performance Summit, where Williams was the co-organizer.

Prior to arriving at UMass Lowell, Williams served as an Associate Athletic Trainer at the University of Detroit Mercy from 2011-2016, where she was responsible for the care of the women’s basketball, men’s soccer and softball programs.  She was responsible for scheduling the Sports Medicine staff, as well as all team physicians clinics and game coverage.
 
Prior to Detroit Mercy, Williams was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan from 2009-2011. At Oakland, Williams worked with the women’s soccer, softball, and indoor track and field programs. 
 
Williams received her Master's Degree from Ball State University in Sports Administration in 2009. While at Ball State, she was responsible for the care of the women’s field hockey, and men's and women's swimming and diving teams as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. A graduate of Grand Valley State University, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in 2007.  She is also a licensed massage therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and holds a dry needling certification.
