Faisal Khan

Having worked closely beside King while at Hofstra, Khan, a 20-year coaching veteran, was the associate head coach for the Pride for the past several seasons. A key member of Head Coach Krista Kilburn-Steveskey's staff, Khan helped craft the game-plans and strategy that contributed to Hofstra's second-ever win over a nationally ranked program when the Pride bested No. 23 James Madison on the road. Hofstra also advanced to the CAA Championship title game for the first time since joining the league and qualified for the fourth WNIT appearance in program history while under Khan's watch. Adding to his resume, Khan has coached a CAA Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honoree, in addition to five All-Conference selections.

Before Hofstra, Khan spent nearly a decade gaining experience through coaching collegiate women's basketball, including five seasons at UNC Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina. During his time with the Bulldogs, Khan was part of a staff that took over a team that won one game in 2001-02 and by his second season the team won 19 games, and would go on to win 18, 15 and 21 in subsequent seasons. In his final four seasons, the program averaged more than 18 wins and in 2006-07 captured its first-ever Big South title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to his stint at UNC Asheville, Khan spent one season each at Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, West Virginia) and West Virginia Wesleyan College (Buckhannon, West Virginia). During his time at Shepherd the Rams won 19 games, while at West Virginia Wesleyan the team advanced to the conference quarterfinals, winning 10 conference contests.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County with a degree in social work and a minor psychology, Khan has also worked as a programs manager with Peace Players International in South Africa and as a social work intern with the Springfield Psychiatric State Hospital in Carroll County, Maryland.
