Biography

2019-20 Season: Schutz totaled eight points (5g,3a) in 23 games for the River Hawks in his final season. Had a career-high three points (1g,2a) at Vermont on November 2nd. UMass Lowell owned a 5-0-0 record when Schutz scored a point.  

2018-19 Season:
He has played in 25 games, registering eight points (3g,5a) in his sophomore season with a +5 rating and 43 shots on goal. Has points in seven games this season with a season-high two points (1g,1a) in the 5-3 win at BU on December 7th. UMass Lowell owned a 6-1-0 record when Schutz scored a point. 

2017-18 Season: Schutz played in 15 games in his freshman year, posting four points (3g,1a). Recorded his first collegiate goal on January 6th vs. UMass. Made his collegiate debut on December 29th vs. Harvard at the Catamount Cup. UMass Lowell owned a 3-1-0 record when he scored a point. 

Previous Team: Will sit out this semester (Fall 2017) due to NCAA transfer rules, after transferring from Robert Morris University. He never played a game with the Colonials. He will be eligible to play in January 2018. Played two seasons for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). He amassed 102 points (59g,43a) in 106 career games with the Bulldogs. He posted 55 points (34g,21a) in 48 games in 2015-16, after a 47-point (25g,22a) campaign in 2014-15. 

Personal: Son of Tracey and Trey Schutz... Has an older brother Ryan... His father Trey played college tennis at Texas A&M University. His nickname is "Shooter"... Schutz's hobbies include fishing, swimming and football... His favorite TV shows are Suits and Friday Night Lights... His favorite professional sports teams is the Dallas Stats... His favorite sports figure is Sidney Crosby... His favorite sports moment is winning three straight tournament championships for my minor hockey team when I was 17 years old.
