Ehlers joined the River Hawk Athletic Healthcare staff in July 2022 to work with the UMass Lowell Men’s Basketball staff. Prior to UML, he spent time as an Athletic Trainer at Harvard, where he worked primarily with the women's rugby, men's and women's squash, and men's and women's sailing, and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field programs.
Before Harvard, he spent four years as an Associate Athletic Trainer at the NCAA Division 2 level at Newberry College, working with football, baseball, and men's soccer.
Ehlers worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at West Virginia University, with roles at HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness and Fairmont Senior High School, and started his career as a Certified Athletic Training Intern at Sacred Heart University. Ehlers also spent time at the professional level as a summer intern with the New York Football Giants in 2013.
Ehlers earned his master's degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 2017 and graduated from the University of Connecticut with his bachelor's degree in 2014.
Ehlers is a BOC certified athletic trainer, a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, and has his Commonwealth of Massachusetts Athletic Training License. He holds additional certifications in Graston M1, and dry needling.
