Dougher enters his second season at UMass Lowell heading into the 2025-26 season. Dougher joins the program after having served four seasons at Fairfield University as an assistant men's basketball coach for the Stags.Â

While at Fairfield from 2019-23, Dougher's primary duties included player development, game planning, scouting and recruiting. He analyzed game film, provided scouting reports to assist in game preparation and collaborated with other coaches to implement effective practice plans to improve team performance. He also conducted development sessions to enhance basketball IQ and the players' technical abilities, and monitored student-athletes' academics.

Dougher was a part of the Fairfield staff during the 2020-21 season when the Stags reached the MAAC Tournament Championship.

A graduate of Stony Brook University, Dougher served his alma mater as director of basketball operations from 2014-16. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing player development, team management and administrative duties. He was also able to assist in the recruiting efforts by evaluating potential recruits and constructing campus visits.

Other stops for Dougher included serving as director of operations at Rutgers University, where he coordinated gameday operations and day-to-day activities, and working as a consultant at Honest Game, where he evaluated transcripts and prepared progress reports in regards to students' NCAA eligibility.

While attending Stony Brook, Dougher was the starting point guard on the men's basketball team from 2008-12. He earned a spot on the America East All-Rookie Team after the 2008-09 season. As a sophomore, Dougher averaged 13.8 points per game with a 42.4% three-point field goal percentage. During that season, he set Stony Brook's Division I record for three pointers in a season (95) en route to the all-time record for career threes (337). The three-time America East All-Conference selection was also a two-time team captain and two-time America East Regular-Season Champion.

Dougher went on to play professionally overseas in Melbourne, Australia for the Ringwood Hawks. While there, he was a two-time team MVP, the team's leading scorer in two seasons and a 2014 Biv V Champion for the Ringwood Hawks.

Dougher earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Stony Brook in 2012.
