Biography

2016-17 Season: Forney appeared in 38 games in his junior season, registering a career-high 15 points (4g,11a). His +15 plus/minus rating was second best among River Hawk blueliners. Notched two assists in his first 14 games of the season and tallied 13 points (4g,9a) in his last 24 contests. Had a point in 13 contests this season, including a career-high three points (1g,2a) on Dec. 10th at Merrimack. The River Hawks are 10-3-0 when Forney scores a point. Recorded a plus or even rating in 31 of 38 contests. Forney had a goal in the Hockey East Championship Game on March 18th vs. Boston College at the TD Garden. His 15 points this season has surpassed his point total from his first two seasons combined, as he tallied 14 points and three goals in 62 career games entering his third season in Lowell. Forney won the Most Improved Player Award at the annual team awards banquet in April. 

2015-16 Season: Forney appeared in 38 games for the River Hawks and notched 10 points (2g,8a) with a +15 plus/minus rating. His +14 in league games was tied for eighth among Hockey East players. Forney totaled three assists in six playoff games with a +2 plus/minus rating. He posted his second career goal in the Championship Game of the “Friendship Four” Tournament against Brown on November 28th in Belfast. Has a point in 10 games this season. Amassed a season-high four shots on goal on November 20th vs. Notre Dame at the Tsongas Center. Has a plus/even rating in 32 of 38 games this season. Had a blocked shot in 24 of 38 contests. Recorded a season-high five blocked shots on March 12th vs. Boston University in Game 2 of the Hockey East Quarterfinals.

2014-15 Season: Appeared in 24 games while adding four points (1g,3a). Added one goal and one assist in a 6-4 win over Connecticut on Dec. 3.
