River Hawks Challenge Pair of Nationally Ranked Opponents This Week

BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Lowell field hockey team (1-1) will be tested by a pair of nationally ranked opponents this week on the road. The squad first visits No. 3 Harvard (0-0) on Friday, September 4 in a 4 p.m. matchup before heading to No. 11 Massachusetts (2-0) on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m.

RIVER HAWK REWIND
The River Hawks went 1-1 during an opening weekend trip to the West Coast, falling 2-1 at Stanford before defeating UC Davis, 3-1. The team's four goals came from four different goal scorers.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Seniors Karli Penrod (Seaford, Del.) and Alice Van Hemelen (Tervuren, Belgium), junior Audrey Carter (Dover, N.H.) and sophomore Rena Pistilli (Lambaré, Paraguay) have each tallied one goal so far, while senior Florine Gerrits (Amstelveen, Netherlands) and sophomore Frédèrique van den Dungen (Rosmalen, Netherlands) have added two assists apiece. Sophomore goalkeepers Veerle Mous (Breda, Netherlands) and Megan MacMiller (Tarzana, Calif.) logged two saves each, as well.
