Godbout-Garon, Dufraiche Named America East Players of the Week

BOSTON – After a pair of excellent performances during a 2-0 week, junior Justin Godbout-Garon (Québec City, Canada) has been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Louis Dufraiche (Pluherlin, France) was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
In Tuesday's match at Merrimack, Godbout-Garon played 49 minutes and made it count, heading in the game-winner in the 64th minute to help lift the River Hawks to a 1-0 victory. Days later against Manhattan, the Canada native continued his hot stretch, scoring the first goal of the game in the 40th minute, finding the back of the net on a ridiculous angle to put his team up 1-0 while marking his third straight contest with two points.
Dufraiche, meanwhile, helped anchor a defensive unit that allowed only one goal in the team's two games last week. Beyond playing a crucial role on the defensive end, the junior recorded an assist on Godbout-Garon's goal against Manhattan, before coming up clutch and scoring the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute, heading in a corner kick in the final seconds to help the River Hawks win their third straight match.
Godbout-Garon, Dufraiche, and the River Hawks are back in action this Saturday, September 26, when they visit the UMBC Retrievers to open up conference play.
