River Hawks Unveil 2026 Schedule

7/20/2026 10:45:00 AM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Men's Soccer Head Coach Kyle Zenoni has announced his team's complete schedule for the 2026 season. The regular season starts on Thursday, August 20, when the team heads to Texas to take on the University of Incarnate Word at 7 p.m.

After finishing with a 7-7-4 overall record and a trip to the America East Playoffs and Semifinals for the first time since the 2019 season, the River Hawks will look to continue to build on the most successful season in Zenoni's tenure. The 2026 campaign features 15 contests, including seven at home.

"We're excited about the schedule," commented Zenoni. "The America East is one of the most competitive conferences in the country, and there simply aren't any easy games. Every opponent will challenge you in a different way. We believe our non-conference schedule prepares us well for that grind, and we're looking forward to the opportunity to compete against some outstanding programs. Our focus is on improving every day so that, when conference play begins, we're playing our best soccer. We want to build on the success we had last year and compete for a championship."

Following the season opener, the River Hawks will stay down in Texas to take on Houston Christian on Sunday, August 23. The team then returns for the home opener on Thursday, August 27 against CCSU to wrap up the month.

September begins with another road contest, this time a short trip to Amherst to battle Massachusetts in the Kennedy Cup match (Sep. 2).  The following week, UMass Lowell welcomes Holy Cross to Cushing Field (Sep. 8), before heading to New York for a first-time matchup against Iona (Sep. 12). Three days later, the squad makes a quick stop at Merrimack (Sep. 15) before wrapping up non-conference play at home against Manhattan (Sep. 18).

After a week off, the River Hawks kick off conference play at UMBC on September 26. October then begins with the team hosting UAlbany (Oct. 3) before heading to New York to battle the Binghamton Bearcats (Oct. 10). For the first time during the 2026 campaign, UMass Lowell then returns home for back-to-back games, hosting Bryant (Oct. 17) and NJIT (Oct. 24). Finally, the River Hawks visit New Hampshire (Oct. 30) before hosting the defending America East Champion Vermont Catamounts on November 3 to close out the regular season.

The America East playoffs begin a few days later with quarterfinal action on November 7. The semifinals follow on November 11, with the conference championship game set for November 15. All playoff games will be held at the higher seed's home field and will be streamed on ESPN+.
