Nineteen River Hawks Named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes

BOSTON – Nineteen UMass Lowell student-athletes have been named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes, one of the conference's highest honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This award recognizes all student-athletes who graduated with a 3.75 GPA or higher from their respective institutions after having attended a minimum of two years.
Baseball's Scott Donahue (Medfield, Mass.), field hockey's Maggie Dowd (Worcester, Mass.), men's cross country/track & field's Daniel Burns (Billerica, Mass.), men's lacrosse's Jackson Rudo (Owings Mills, Md.), softball's Giana LaCedra (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and Alaina Santoli (Lovettsville, Va.), women's basketball's Sophie Baydanov (Vienna, Austria), women's lacrosse's Audra Hansen (Stamford, Ct.) and Grace Lydon (Rowley, Mass.), women's soccer's Kirti Craig (Spotswood, N.J.), Maddie Guthrie (Stow, Mass.), Maija Hodson (Sault Saint Marie, Ontario), and Sophie St. George (Walpole, Mass.), and Miana Caraballo (Methuen, Mass.), Mary-Kate Finn (Nashua, N.H.), Kylie Marion (Baldwinville, Mass.), Paige Murphy (Billerica, Mass.), Nubia Pereira (Woburn, Mass.), and Raihana Yameogo (Dillsburg, Pa.) of the women's cross country/track and field program were this year's recipients representing the River Hawks.
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was approved by the America East Board of Presidents in June of 2013 and implemented for 2013-14 academic year. In total, 1261 student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
