BOSTON – UMass Lowell sophomore Thyanais Santiago (Methuen, Mass.) was named America East Player of the Week following a standout performance in the River Hawks' three-game sweep of Maine, highlighted by a clutch three-run home run in Friday's 12–11 comeback win.
Santiago delivered in key moments across all three games, finishing the weekend hitting .429 (3-for-7) with a team-high seven RBI, while adding a double, five runs scored and three walks. She also contributed in Saturday's doubleheader, including a game-tying RBI double in a 5–1 victory as Lowell completed the sweep.
The award marks the first America East weekly honor of Santiago's career. She also earned UMass Lowell's River Hawk of the Week honors for her performance.
