LOWELL, Mass. – After a productive weekend and helping lead the UMass Lowell ice hockey team (12-4-2, 5-3-1 Hockey East) to a Cactus Cup victory, freshman
Lee Parks (Ottawa, Ontario) was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Parks was a force for the River Hawks, finishing the weekend with a goal and three assists for four total points. In Friday's game one 3-2 victory against Michigan Tech, the forward scored the game-winning goal with just 1:41 remaining in the game to advance the team to the championship game. Earlier in the game, Parks earned an assist on each of the team's two other goals to finish the game with three points. He added one more assist in the championship game, giving him four points throughout the tournament and earning himself Cactus Cup MVP honors.
This marks the first Hockey East weekly award of Parks' career.
