BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Lowell field hockey junior goalkeeper Eleonore Boekhorst (Bilthoven, Netherlands) has been named America East Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Boekhorst totaled 10 saves while posting a 1.50 GAA in a 1-1 week for the River Hawks. Against #25 Massachusetts, the junior posted seven saves against the Minutewomen to help the River Hawks force a shootout. Three days later she allowed only one goal against Wagner as UMass Lowell went on to earn its second win of the season.
 
This is Boekhorst's first America East weekly honor of the season and the seventh of her career.
