LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell field hockey team wraps up its September homestand with the start of America East Conference play this week. The River Hawks will first welcome Stanford to Wicked Blue Field on Friday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. before squaring off against UC Davis on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.

RIVER HAWK REWIND
The River Hawks are currently 4-2 in 2022 after going 2-0 last week. The squad first played an incredible matchup against Boston University, downing the Patriot League foe, 2-1, under the lights on Sept. 9. UMass Lowell then defeated Merrimack, 6-1, on Sept. 11 in the revival of the Valley Cup.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Graduate students Jenna Berger (Waterloo, Ontario) and Hannah Keefe (Westford, Mass.), senior Berbel Rozema (Rotterdam, Netherlands) and junior Mirthe Gans (Tiel, Netherlands) all currently lead the River Hawks with six points apiece. In the cage, junior Eleonore Boekhorst (Bilthoven, Netherlands) totals 23 saves and a 1.13 goals against average.

A WIN WOULD
A win against Stanford on Friday would give the River Hawks' their second in the last three meetings of the series. The Cardinal own a 4-1 edge in the all-time series. It would also mark the team's second consecutive win in its conference opener. A win against UC Davis on Sunday would give UMass Lowell a 4-1 lead in that series.

WEEKLY HONORS
Eleonore Boekhorst was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7 for her 10 saves and 1-1 performance in the cage against Massachusetts and Wagner.
