Eleven River Hawks Named AE Presidential Scholar-Athletes

BOSTON – Eleven UMass Lowell student-athletes have been honored with the America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

This honor recognizes all student-athletes graduating with a 3.75 GPA or higher from their respective institutions after having attended a minimum of two years.
 
Rachel Hill (North Reading, Mass.), Kristin Hohenstein (Chelmsford, Mass.), Avery Leydon (Woburn, Mass.), Kayley Moran (Hackettstown, N.J.), and Tatum Pecci (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the women's cross country/track and field program, Christopher McCauliff (Lunenburg, Mass.) of the men's cross country/track and field program, men's lacrosse player Sebastian Boivin (Mount Laurel, N.J.), field hockey's Lindsey Kilpatrick (Manlius, N.Y.), baseball's Salvatore Fusco (Colonie, N.Y.), and Chaima Khammar (Cologne, Germany) and Farrell O'Shaughnessy (Bedford, Mass.) were this year's River Hawks who earned the honor.
 
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was approved by the America East Board of Presidents in June of 2013 and implemented for 2013-14 academic year. In total, over 670 student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
