LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (9-13, 6-7 AE) will visit the NJIT Highlanders (13-12, 8-6 AE) on Monday night. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the NJIT Wellness and Events Center.

LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks enter Monday after falling to Binghamton 71-54 on Saturday.
Kaylen Banwareesingh and
Kharis Idom combined for 30 points. Banwareesingh picked up a team-high five rebounds while Idom had four steals and three assists. Saturday was a second straight loss for the River Hawks, having lost to NJIT on February 16. UMass Lowell will look to get back in the win column and even the season series against the Highlanders.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT welcomes the River Hawks after falling 77-43 to Maine on Saturday afternoon. Last time these teams met, Kenna Squier (17), Lyzi Litwinko (15), and Ellyn Stoll (14) each scored double-digit points to lead the Highlanders to a 60-50 victory. Stoll added a team-high nine points in the loss to Maine. Litwinko and Squier combined for 11 points.

A win would put the River Hawks back in the win column and even the season series with the Highlanders.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Kharis Idom  is averaging a team-high 10.2 points per game and leads the team with 38 made threes this season.
Denise Solis is averaging 10.0 points per game on the year and has a team-high 93 rebounds through 22 games. Idom also leads the team with 28 steals, while
Shamyjha Price has recorded 26 steals on the year.
Amaya Dowdy leads the team with 16 blocks.

The River Hawks have had plenty of success from behind the arc in the 2021-22 season, going 124-349 through 22 games. UMass Lowell is shooting 35.5% from distance, the best percentage in the league.

A DIME A DOZEN
Kharis Idom,
Jaini Edmonds, and
Leilani Rodriguez lead the team with double-digit assists each through 21 games this season. Idom has tallied 44 dimes, while Edmonds has 37.

Denise Solis, and
Baylee Teal have each dished out double-digit dimes this season, as well.

THREES COMPANY
The River Hawks scored a season-high 11 three pointers against UMBC, shooting 11-18 for 61% from beyond the arc. It is the most three pointers scored in a single game by UMass Lowell since the team hit 10 against UMBC on February 18, 2017. The team hit 11 threeís for the second time this season against Hartford on February 7, shooting 11-21 from distance.

IDOM ON THE PRIZE
After picking up 10 points against Cornell on December 1,
Kharis Idom became the fourth River Hawk in the Division I era to surpass 800 career points. She sits fourth in all-time points in the Division I era at UMass Lowell. Idom currently sits at 993 career points.
