LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (6-7, 3-1 AE) team will travel for Albany, N.Y. for the second meeting with UAlbany (11-6, 4-2 AE) this season. The River Hawks and Great Danes are scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off at the SEFCU Arena.
LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
UMass Lowell enters Wednesday on a three-game win streak after taking down conference foes UMBC, Maine, and New Hampshire. Last time out, the River Hawks knocked off the UNH Wildcats with a 57-54 victory at the Costello Athletic Center. Freshman
Ivory Finley (Minneapolis, Minn.) scored a career-high 17 points and added seven rebounds. Fellow freshman
Amaya Dowdy (Woonsocket, R.I.) came off the bench and added eight points and seven boards. Junior
Denise Solis (Windsor, Conn.) made big shots down the stretch for the River Hawks, finishing the afternoon with nine points and five rebounds.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
The Great Danes took the first matchup between the two teams and hold a 4-2 record in America East action. Last time out, the Great Danes fell to Stony Brook on the road 58-47 on January 22. Kayla Cooper (12.4) and Helene Haegarstrand (11.8) are averaging double-digit points for UAlbany this season. Lucia Decortes leads the team with 25 blocks on the year and Lilly Phillips has dished out a team-high 44 assists this season. The Great Danes allow an average of 48.8 points per game through 17 games this season.
A WIN WOULD
A win would even the season series between the teams. A win would also give the River Hawks their fourth straight conference victory.
A DIME A DOZEN

Kharis Idom, (Orlando, Fla.), sophomore
Jaini Edmonds (Worcester, Mass.), and sophomore
Leilani Rodriguez (Worcester, Mass.) lead the team with double-digit assists each through thirteen games this season. Idom has tallied 29 dimes, while Edmonds has 22 and Rodriguez has recorded 20. Junior
Shamyjha Price (Pittsburgh, Penn.) has also picked up 13 assists on the season.
Denise Solis has 14 and
Baylee Teal has recorded 11 assists this season, as well.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Solis is averaging a team-high 9.9 points per game, picking up a team-best 67 boards, and a team-high eight blocks.
Kharis Idom averages 8.3 points per game and made a team-high 14 three-pointers this season.

Ivory Finley (15), and Edmonds (11) have tallied double-digit steals this season. Eight River Hawks have tallied at least 20 rebounds this season, and eleven players have tallied double-digit boards through nine games this season. Idom also leads the team with 26 assists on the season, with Edmonds and Rodriguez dishing out 21 and 20 dimes, respectively.
THREES COMPANY
The River Hawks scored a season-high 11 three pointers against UMBC, shooting 11-18 for 61% from beyond the arc. It is the most three pointers scored in a single game by UMass Lowell since the team hit 10 against UMBC on February 18, 2017.
BOARDS GALORE
The River Hawks have tallied a total of 442 rebounds this season. The team averages 34 rebounds per game with the sixth best rebounding margin in the league.
FRESHMAN IMPACT
Ivory Finley has had a big impact for the River Hawks in her rookie campaign. The freshman has scored 95 points in twelve games and four starts this season. She has also tallied 49 rebounds and 15 steals. Finley earned her first conference award after being named the America East Rookie of the Week on January 24.
