VESTAL, N.Y. -- Alejandro Osorio (Hollywood, Fla.) tallied his first game-winning tally since 2017 as the UMass Lowell men's soccer team earned its fifth consecutive win with the 1-0 victory at Binghamton, on Saturday evening.
Osorio put home the rebound off
Denis Petro's (Michalovce, Slovakia) shot in the 31st minute to send the River Hawks (6-2-1, 2-0-0) to the program's fifth victory since mid-September and keeps UMass Lowell in a deadlock atop the conference with New Hampshire.
"This was one of our best performances all season," commented Head Coach
Christian Figueroa. "The game was not pretty for long stretches, but our guys found a way to battle for 90 minutes and leave with the win. Binghamton is coached well and made us work hard for our chances, and I am proud of the way we competed tonight."
The Bearcats (2-6-1, 0-2-0) outshot the visitors, 10-5, and picked up five attempts on target to the pair from UMass Lowell.
Patrik Gujic (Bjelovar Croatia) made a pair of stops in the opening stanza and preserved the lead with three in the second half to pick up his sixth win of the campaign.
UMass Lowell returns home for a non-conference matchup against Harvard on October 8. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cushing Field.Â
