LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's soccer team suffered back-to-back setbacks for the first time in over a year, as No. 15 New Hampshire delivered a 4-0 shutout on Homecoming on Saturday afternoon.
"It was a difficult game with not a lot of opportunities to get a good rhythm throughout the 90 minutes," noted Head Coach
Christian Figueroa. "New Hampshire did a good job taking advantage of the restarts with three goals, but this is a good learning moment for our guys."
The River Hawks (7-4-1, 2-2-0) saw their five-game home conference winning streak come to an end as the visitors scored three goals in the first half, and Antonio Colacci picked up the assist on all four Wildcat (10-0-2, 4-0-0) scores.
Josh Bauer broke the scoreless tie with his first of two tallies in the 11th minute on a set piece, and capped the scoring in the 70th minute.
Zach Rowell (Haverill, Mass.) made two stops in net for the hosts, and Michael Bagdon (Medway Mass.) recorded a save on the only shot he faced in relief.
The River Hawks head back on the road to take on Vermont next Saturday (10.26) at 2 p.m.
