BOSTON, Mass. – The America East has announced that 169 UMass Lowell student-athletes were placed on the conference's Winter/Spring Honor Roll for the 2017-18 academic year.
Eighty-three of the 169 honorees also received Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition for their impressive work in the classroom.
"Our student-athletes have consistently taken care of business in the classroom," said Alison Quandt Westgate, Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Student-Athlete Services. "It speaks volumes about their commitment to living the term 'student-athlete.'"
Student-athletes must achieve a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher to be eligible for the America East Honor Roll, or at least a 3.50 GPA to be named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Women's track and field led all River Hawk teams with 82.4 percent (42-of-51) of its roster earning Honor Roll recognition. Lacrosse was the most decorated men's team with 74.4 percent (32-of-43) of its players appearing on the Honor Roll list.
In total, 1,502 (68%) of America East winter/spring student-athletes earned honor roll distinction.
