LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's soccer team wrapped up its brief two-game home stand with a 2-0 win over UAlbany on Saturday night.
The River Hawks (8-4-2, 3-2-0) used one goal in each half, and was able to stifle the Great Dane (5-9-0, 1-4-0) offense, including the America East's points leader Nico Solabarrieta.
"I thought they guys came out pretty strong tonight and were very focused," remarked Head Coach

Abdi Shariff-Hassan's (Lewiston, Maine) cross with his head just inside the penalty spot. The helper marked Shariff-Hassan's first collegiate point, as well.
UMass Lowell doubled its lead with help from a pair of Croatians in the 71st minute on a free kick.
Jakov Basic (Zagreb, Croatia) sent the curving box into the ball and found the head of
Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) for his second goal of the season.
Zach Rowell (Haverhill, Mass.) picked up his sixth solo shutout of the season, and did not have to make a save until the 57th minute.
The visitors outshot the hosts, 11-10, but UMass Lowell held a 6-3 advantage in shots on target.
