LOWELL, Mass. -- Freshman outside hitter
Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.) tied a career-high with 14 kills and hit at a match-high .440 clip to lead the UMass Lowell Volleyball team to a 3-1 home victory on Sunday afternoon at Costello Athletic Center in close out Homecoming Weekend. The set scores were 25-14, 25-27, 25-18 and 25-16.
Bilyeu closed out the day with a match-clinching kill to take down the Saints.
The River Hawks improve to 3-17 overall with the victory and have now won two of their last three matches. The Saints fall to 1-20 overall on the season with the loss.
"When the team executes and stays focused on their job, they do wonderful things out there," said UMass Lowell Head Coach

Redshirt sophomore
Malia Randolph (McDonough, Ga.) had another solid match with 12 kills, a .409 hitting percentage, 26 assists and seven digs. Senior middle blocker
Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) added 10 kills and a .333 hitting percentage in the victory for the River Hawks. Junior outsider hitter
Madi Bell (Port St. Lucia, Fla.) chipped in with nine kills, a .286 hitting percentage, nine digs and two total blocks.
The River Hawks hit for a season-best .369 hitting percentage in the match, which included a match-high .500 clip in the fourth and final frame. UMass Lowell totaled 17 kills in set two and 16 kills in set four to seal the victory. UMass Lowell posted a season-high 12 service aces in the match, which included four aces from senior tri-captain
Erica Cappellino (Penfield, Ill.) and a set-clinching kill by
Morgan Given (Orlando, Fla.) in the third stanza. Cappellino recorded three aces in a row in the opening set to give the River Hawks a 19-11 lead. Given finished the day with eight kills and a .429 hitting percentage.
Senior libero
Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) registered 13 digs in another solid defensive performance. Sophomore middle hitter
Grace Burkett (Lakeside, Calif.) also managed seven kills, a .385 hitting percentage and five total blocks.
Siena was led by Nicole Deobler, who posted a team-high 12 kills, while libero JoJo Ishida recorded a team-best 11 digs.
The honored
Lindsey Visvardis in pre-match ceremony for reaching the 1,500 digs plateau on Friday night vs. UAlbany and also recognized Amayah Brown on Team IMPACT Day.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Friday, October 19th against New Hampshire in America East play. Match time from Costello Athletic Center is 7 p.m.
