SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell Lowell enters the weekend with a 2-16 overall record (1-4 AE) after they picked up their second victory of the season and first win in conference play last Sunday in a come from behind win (3-2) at UMBC. Junior outside hitter Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) led the team with 23 kills and 18 digs in two-match road trip. Bell leads the team with 132 kills and 2.24 kills per frame, while senior middle blocker Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) has totaled a team-best 37 total blocks (7s,30a) for the River Hawks. Freshman defensive special Aleyna Kennel (Monument, Colo.) leads the team with 14 service aces for UMass Lowell.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES: UAlbany is currently in third place in the AE standings with a 3-1 record (9-8 overall). The Great Danes have five of their last six matches, including a 3-0 win at Hartford last Sunday. Akuabata Okenwa leads the team with 180 kills, while Nicole Otero paces UAlbany with 300 digs and 15 service aces.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. UALBANY: The River Hawks have never beat UAlbany since joining America East in 2013. UMass Lowell lost both meetings in 2-17 by 3-0 scores.

LAST TIME OUT: Junior outside hitter Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) totaled a team-high 15 kills to go along with 12 digs as she helped guide the UMass Lowell Volleyball team to Sunday afternoon's come from behind victory against UMBC in five sets at the UMBC Event Center. The set scores were 20-25, 12-25, 25-23, 25-21 and 15-13. Redshirt sophomore Malia Randolph (McDonough, Ga.) added a career-high 10 kills with a .333 hitting percentage, 19 assists and 15 digs in a solid all-around match. Randolph's kill ended the fourth set to give the River Hawks the victory. Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) and Morgan Given (Orlando, Fla.) each chipped in with seven kills, which included Adeniyi's match-clinching kill in the final frame. Freshman Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.) and Grace Burkett (Lakeside, Calif.) manged six kills apiece for the River Hawks in the road victory. Senior libero Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) stole the show defensively for the River Hawks posting a match-high 30 digs. The River Hawks added 11 kills in the first frame and then added 13 kills in the third set. UMass Lowell recorded a team-high 15 kills and a .279 hitting percentage in the fourth frame to send the match to a fifth set. The River Hawks registered nine kills and hit at a .214 clip in the fifth stanza. The match between the River Hawks and Retrievers featured 36 tie scores and 14 lead changes. The River Hawks amassed six service aces in the match, which included Bell's set clincher in the third frame.
BILYEU NAMED AMERICA EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Freshman outside hitter Kate Bilyeu (Omaha, Neb.) was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon, as announced by the conference office. Bilyeu, who wins an America East weekly award for the first time her River Hawk career, totaled 15 kills, six digs and two total blocks in two road America East matches. She registered nine kills and a .368 hitting percentage in the 3-0 loss at Binghamton on Friday and followed that up with six kills and four digs in the 3-2 come from behind victory on Saturday at UMBC to help the River Hawks to their first America East win of the season. Bilyeu averaged 1.87 kills per set on the 1-1 weekend for the River Hawks. She ranks third on the River Hawks' roster so far this season with 107 kills, 45 digs and 18 total blocks.
VISVARDIS DIGGING HER WAY TO THE TOP: Visvardis has recorded 1,497 digs in her 3+ years career since joining the River Hawks in 2015 and needs only three digs to reach the 1,500 career digs mark, becoming the fourth player in school history to accomplish the feat. She ranks 39th among active NCAA players. Visvardis ranks fourth on the all-time school digs list, as she passed Kristina Martell (1,275; 2004-2007) on the opening weekend at the Fullerton/Riverside Classic and then passed Stacey Graf (1999-02) for fourth place this past weekend. Visvardis' 3.51 digs per set is sixth best among America East players. She has amassed 228 digs in 63 sets this season, which is seventh among league players. She has registered 10+ digs in 12 of 18 matches and she totaled a season-high 30 digs in Sunday's win at UMBC, which were three short of tying a career-high. Visvardis record 42 digs (5.25 digs/set) in eight sets last weekend on the AE road trip.Â
