LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell baseball team looks to get in the win column with a five-game week, including four games at LeLacheur Park this week. 

River Hawk Rewind
The River Hawks suffered a 2-3 week, after splitting a non-conference doubleheader with Brown and dropping their first America East conference of the season at UMBC. Connor Metelski (Wall Township, N.J.) picked up his second consecutive shutout win in the 3-0 victory in the nightcap against Brown on April 18. In the lone win in Baltimore, Colby Maiola, Steve Passatmepo and Cam Climo all homered, with Climo and Maiola each driving in two runs in the opener. Nick Kuzia (Seymour, Conn.) earned the win with seven strikeouts in 7.1 innings, allowing no earned runs. Maiola finished the week with eight hits, two home runs and four RBI, with three runs scored. 

Leading the Flock
Maiola sits atop the lineup with a .341 batting average and his 33 RBI, while he's second with 26 runs, 43 hits, eight doubles, two triples and six homers. Sharpe paces the UMass Lowell offense with 44 hits, 35 runs, six long balls and 89 total bases, while the sophomore's 16 doubles lead the conference and are the sixth-most in all of Division I. Sharpe has tripled four times and posts a .685 slugging percentage with 25 RBI as well. On the hill, Collin Duffley (Manchester, N.H.) leads the team with his five wins, two complete games, 58 strikeouts and his 2.9 ERA, while Nick Rand (Hyde Park, N.Y.) has a team-high six saves. As a team, the River Hawks are batting .257 and the staff is posting a 3.76 ERA.

Scouting Boston College
The Eagles (15-22, 6-15 ACC) swept NC State over the weekend to enter the matchup on a three-game winning streak. Jake Alu leads the offense with a .336 batting average, while Gian Martellni has hit a team-high three home runs and driven in 26 runs behind 11 doubles. On the mound, Jack Nelson is 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA, while Jacob Stevens has 48 strikeouts. The Eagles are batting .246 with a 5.26 ERA.

Scouting Harvard
The Crimson (16-20, 5-11 Ivy) have won four of its last five games including its last two game against Brown. Patrick Robinson is batting .402 through his 33 appearances, and leads the team with nine homers and 32 RBI. The pitching staff is led by Kevin Stone's four wins, Ian Miller's 42 strikeouts and Simon Rosenblum-Larson's 4.50 ERA. As a team the Crimson is batting .272 and have a combined ERA of 5.54.

Scouting Hartford
The Hawks (14-19, 6-6 AE) are coming off a sweep of Stony Brook over the weekend and play Quinnipiac before heading to Lowell for the weekend series. Erik Ostberg leads the team with a .500 average has not played in the last 11 games. He is one of two players with six homers as well. Ben Bengston sits atop the lineup with 31 RBI. The staff is led by John LaRossa's three wins, while Alex Moconyi has a 4.15 ERA and Billy DeVito has struck out 29 batters. Hartford is batting .295 and the pitchers are posting a 8.14 ERA.

Series History
UMass Lowell is 0-1 all-time against Boston College, with the only meeting coming back in 2014. 
The Crimson took last season's meeting 9-4 in the teams' first meeting.
The River Hawks hold an 11-9 all-time record against the Hawks.

Record-Setting Sunday
The 18 runs against UAlbany was the most UMass Lowell has scored since joining Division I in 2013, surpassing the previous high of 15 against UMBC on April 26, 2014. The River Hawks' 10 runs in the ninth inning marked the most runs the team has scored in an inning since 2013, passing the seven runs in 15-1 game at UMBC.

Mai, oh Mai
Colby Maiola leads the team with 10 multi-RBI games and 12-multi hit games as well. The left fielder and has reached base in three straight games and has a season-long seven-game hitting streak. The junior college transfer has connected on the team's only grand slam this season and is third on the team with 16 extra-base hits.

Put Me In Coach!
In the latest NEIBA Division I Coaches Poll, the River Hawks are in the ranked third, trailing Dartmouth and UConn.

Power Surge
Through 36 games, this year's offense has connected on 33 home runs and have delivered multiple home runs in eight games, including a DI program-high four on February 25 against FDU, to lead the conference in total homers. Last season, the River Hawks hit 23 homers with four multi-home run games. 

Bullpen Magic
In the River Hawks' five-game winning steak, the bullpen allowed seven runs, five earned, in 19.1 innings with pitchers combining for 20 strikeouts.

Hangin' 11
The 11 runs against UConn marked the second consecutive season-opening win that the River Hawks crossed the plate 11 times. Last season, UMass Lowell defeated Nicholls State, 11-2, to begin 2016 1-0. It also marks the third time in DI that the River Hawks scored more than 10 runs in their first win of the season (14, vs. Temple, 2014).
