CATONSVILLE, Md. -- The UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team fell at UMBC, 10-6, on Saturday afternoon in America East play at UMBC Stadium.Â
With the loss, the River Hawks drop to 2-9 overall (0-3 AE), while the Retrievers improve to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.Â
UMass Lowell scored the first five goals in the first 16 minutes of the game on two goals by
Keenan Koswin (Winnpeg, Man.) and
Martin Winter (Lake Oswego, Ore.), to go along with one goal from
Austin Lane (Aurora, Ont.). Koswin finished the day with a game-high three points (2g,1a) for the River Hawks.Â
Nicholas Pino (North Andover, Mass.) scored the lone goal in the second half for the River Hawks.Â
UMass Lowell opened the game with a 13-7 shot advantage and finished the game with a 29-24 advantage in groundballs.Â
Max Maxwell tallied a game-high six points (3g,3a) in the win for UMBC.Â
Sophomore goalie
Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) made nine saves in his 11th start of the season for the River Hawks, while UMBC's Ruston Souder also made nine stops.Â
UMass Lowell returns to action on Saturday, April 8th against Vermont. Game time from Cushing Field Complex is 2 p.m. on Youth Lacrosse Day.Â
