River Hawks Host 10th Annual "Bowling For IMPACT" on April 2

LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host its 10th annual "Bowling for IMPACT" event on Sunday, April 2 at Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury from 3-5 p.m.

"On behalf of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, we are looking forward to our 10th annual Bowling for Impact Tournament," said Coordinator for Academic Support Services Michael Anderson. "Our turnout and support last year was phenomenal with over $10,000 raised from the event going to our Team Impact children at UMass Lowell and all over the country. I think this year will be even bigger as we are moving our event to Wamesit Lanes and will have more prizes for our participants. Overall it's one of SAAC's main event and our top community fundraiser for the year. We look forward to having our Team Impact Children, student-athletes, coaches, staff, and administration come together for an amazing day of bowling and raise money for Team Impact."
Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team. Each squad's Team IMPACT child will be in attendance to bowl with their teammates and have fun, while raising money and spreading awareness for the Team IMPACT organization.

Last year, UMass Lowell athletics went on to raise over $10,000 for Team IMPACT, with the field hockey team raising the most money of all teams represented, bringing in over $1,200.

All participating teams will be competing for the Team IMPACT Bowling Cup, won last year by the men's track and field team.
