LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse Head Coach
Ed Stephenson announced on Thursday the addition of
Bobby Downes to the coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Downes spent last season as the Video Coordinator at the University of Michigan and previously had stints at Virginia Military Institute as an Assistant Coach (2015) and Volunteer Assistant (2014).
"Bobby is a great addition to our staff and I look forward to working with him this year," said Stephenson. "He has already made an impact working with our face off guys and defensive midfielders. He is a student of the game, highly competitive, and has great organizational skills. As a graduate student at Harvard, he undoubtedly will contribute to our quest for academic excellence."
He started his college coaching career at Florida Institute of Technology in 2013 as an Assistant Coach.
"First I would like to thank Coach Stephenson, Coach Gould and Coach Kline for the opportunity to join the UMass Lowell Lacrosse Family," said Downes. "I am very happy to be coming back to New England and I look forward to contributing to help this program achieve the goals that they have set. I can't wait to get started."
