LOWELL, Mass. – After extending its unbeaten streak to seven games after a 1-0-1 week, the No. 24 UMass Lowell men's soccer team heads to Bryant for the program's final tune up before conference play starts in October. For the first time in program history, the River Hawks are ranked in the NSCAA Division I Top 25 as announced Tuesday afternoon.
River Hawk Rewind
The River Hawks began their week with a 2-1 home victory against Brown on Sept. 14 to push the winning streak to six games. After trailing 1-0 after nine minutes, UMass Lowell scored two second half goals to secure the win, with the game winner coming off the foot of
Ivan Abramovic (Zagreb, Croatia) in the 86th minute.
Wuilito Fernandes (Praia, Cape Verde) knotted the score in the 52nd minute, and
Carlos Ruiz (East Boston, Mass.) tallied two assists on the night. Ruiz capped off his week with the game-tying goal from the penalty spot in the 41st minute to draw 1-1 against Dartmouth on Sept. 17.
Austin Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) made a season-high six stops to lead the River Hawks to the tie.Â

Leading the Flock
Fernandes leads the team with six goals for 12 points, while Abramovic has four goals and a team-high five assists for 13 points. Ruiz is third with two goals and second on the team with three helpers.
Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) has two assists so far in his first season as a River Hawk. In net, Kroll has allowed five goals on 68 shots, recording 18 saves and a goals against average of 0.67.

Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs are winless on the season, sitting at 0-6, following a 3-2 double overtime loss against Vermont on Sept. 14. Bryant is 0-2 against America East schools, including a 3-1 defeat against New Hampshire in the season opener. Three different players have scored a goal for the Bulldogs, accounting for their season total. Nick Stewart has made all six starts between the pipes for Bryant, allowing 15 goals with 33 saves for a GAA and save percentage of 2.49 and .688, respectively.Â
Series History
The River Hawks hold a 12-10-2 advantage in the all-time series against Bryant, but the Bulldogs are 2-1 in the Division I era. UMass Lowell pulled off a 3-2 overtime win last season, with the game-winning goal coming of the foot of Guiilherme Rodrigues (Lowell, Mass.) in the 95th minute.
Election Season
The River Hawks enter the week at No. 24 in both NSCAA DI National Poll and the College Soccer News Top 30 poll. UMass Lowell is the lone unbeaten America East school, and the squad also finds itself the top-ranked squad in the East for the second consecutive week, according to the NSCAA Division I Regional Poll.
Playing From Ahead
Before succumbing the first goal against Browm, UMass Lowell had only trailed for 1:47 this season, coming in the first game of the season at Northeastern. From
Ben Waithe's (Plymouth, Mass.) game tying goal, the River Hawks went 452 consecutive minutes without trailing.
Saving Space in the Records
Kroll now sits fourth all-time with 21 career wins and 14 career blank sheets. With 675:26 of total playing time this season, he has moved into seventh all-time with 3,885:28 minutes in a River Hawk uniform.
And That Was Talking Soccer
Abramovic's game-winning goal from Sept. 4 earned a spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 list at number 4. The tally appeared on Fox Soccer and took home the Top Drawer Soccer Goal of the Week.

Fernandes was named the America East Player of the Week (9.12) ... Abramovic has taken home consecutive America East Rookie of the Week honors (8.29-9.6) … with five wins this season, Figueroa has reached 51 wins during his coaching career at UMass Lowell.
