LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's soccer team looks to build on it best start in Division I with two home games over the holiday weekend. The River Hawks will host Seton Hall on September 2, followed by a Sunday matinee against St. Francis Brooklyn. The match with the Terriers will also be the program's Team IMPACT Game, with a special presentation for the team's match Ian Muiruri before the game.

River Hawk Rewind
For the first time in DI era, UMass Lowell opened the season 2-0, behind a pair of road victories at Northeastern and Monmouth. In the season opener, Wuilito Fernandes (Praia, Cape Verde) notched the game-winning goal in the 69th minute, after freshman Ben Waithe (Plymouth, Mass.) knotted the game with his first career goal in the 32nd minute. There would be no late drama at Monmouth, as the River Hawks cruised to a 3-0 result, with the help of Ivan Abramovic's (Zagreb Croatia) first career goals (20', 87'), and Fernandes' second goal of the season 15 minutes before halftime.

Leading the Flock
Abramovic is atop the team leaders with two assists and six points, while he and Fernandes both have two goals. Joseph Conti (Annapolis, Md.), Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) and Jakov Basic (Zagreb, Croatia) have all assisted on goals so far in the season. In net, junior Austin Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) has allowed one goal on 19 shots, recording six saves and a goals against average of 0.50.

Scouting Seton Hall
Coming off a 0-15-1 mark in 2015, the Pirates are 1-1 on the young season, picking up their first win since November 2014 with a season-opening 3-1 win at Saint Peters. Fellow America East school Stony Brook knocked off SHU, 2-0, on Aug. 28. Andres Arcila has tallied two of his squad's three goals, while Danny Bartok has the other. A duo of Pirates have collected one assist each, and in net Julian Spindler has recorded a 1.50 GAA and six saves.

Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn
The Terriers are 1-1 on the season, following a 1-0 loss to Rhode Island after a season-opening win at Lafayette. Djiby Sarr has the only goal and point for his team, and Seth Erdman has made nine saves.

Series History
Seton Hall defeated the River Hawks 1-0 in the only previous matchup between the two teams in 2014. UMass Lowell and St. Francis Brooklyn have split the two meetings, with the Terries coming out on top, 3-0, in last year's tilt.

Saving Space in the Records
Kroll now sits tied for fourth all-time with 17 career wins, and has 14 shutouts which is good for sole possession of fourth. With 180 minutes of the past two games, he has moved into seventh all-time with 3,300:02 minutes in a River Hawk uniform.

Protecting the House
Since beginning Division I play, Christian Figueroa has seen his teams go 10-10-2 at Cushing Field, with a 9-7-1 mark since 2014.

Notables
Abramovic took home his first America East Weekly honor after being named the Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week (8.29) … with two wins so far this season, Figueroa sits at 48 victories in his coaching career at UMass Lowell.
