LOWELL, Mass. -- As Head Coach
Christian Figueroa and the UMass Lowell men's soccer team enter thier fourth year in Division I, the program welcomes a dozen new faces, but returns many veterans including 2015 leading scorer
Wuilito Fernandes (Praia, Cape Verde.) After a third place finish in 2014, the River Hawks completed the 2015 campaign with a 7-9-1 mark, including a 2-4-1 record in America East action.

With the program inching closer and closer to becoming postseason eligible, Figueroa knows the importance of having the team gel and work towards the same goal and having a successful season.

"As a group we want to take steps forward as a program. It is year four of the transition. We want to see how far we have come since the first announcement. It was a long time ago, but it also isn't that long ago. The steps we have taken have been great thanks to our staff and seniors. We look to see if they can pass the torch to the younger guys and keep this program headed in the right direction."
