LOWELL, Mass. –
The UMass Lowell baseball team looks to snap its five-game losing streak as the UMBC Retrievers come to town for the team's final home conference series, with Senior Day on Sunday.

Joe Consolmagno (Worcester, Mass.) will be honored with a pre-game ceremony before the finale's first pitch on Sunday. Kevin Veilleux (Manchester, N.H.) who was a part of last year's class, will be recognized as well in his final season as a River Hawk.

River Hawk Recap
UMass Lowell suffered a sweep at the hands of the Maine Black Bears last weekend, and returns to the diamond for the first time since. The River Hawks fell in the first two games, 8-1 and 1-0, respectively and took a 4-2 lead into the seventh of game three, before being topped 7-4. In the finale, Steve Passatempo (Medford, Mass.) connected on his ninth home run of the season, while both Oscar Marchena (Miami, Fla.) and Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) drove in runs. 

Leading the Flock
Consolmagno leads the team with a .289 average, 41 hits and 23 runs, while he sits in second with 21 RBI. In the middle of the order, Steve Passatempo (Medford, Mass.) powers the offense with nine homers and 36 RBI, to lead the conference in both categories. Chris Sharpe (Burlington, Mass.) leads the team with five doubles and has driven in 13 RBI. Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) has stolen 15 bases, trailed by Consolmagno's and Ben Prada's (Laurel, Md.) 10 as the team leads the America East with 61 steals. On the mound, Kendall Pomeroy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has four wins, while Andrew Ryan (Rochester, Mass.) has three wins to his name and leads the staff with 49 strikeouts. Brendan Long (Naples, Fla.) leads the team and conference with eight saves, boasting a 2.25 ERA. UMass Lowell is batting .229 as a team, and the staff paces the conference with a 3.62 ERA.

Scouting UMBC
The Retrievers (20-20, 8-9 AE) dropped two out of three at Stony Brook in their last time out (April 30-May 1), and have lost four of their last six overall. Kevin Lachance tops the offense with a .401 average, 63 hits, 25 stolen bases and is second with six home runs and 26 RBI. Hunter Dolshun leads the team with seven long balls and 29 RBI. In nine appearances, Patrick Phillips has a 2.20 ERA while Conrad Wozniak has five wins with four complete games, and 47 strikeouts. UMBC is batting .286 as a team, and posts a 4.86 ERA.

The River Hawks leads the series 5-4, following UMBC's sweep in the teams' first meeting this season.
