River Hawk RecapThe River Hawks (4-3) took two out of three at the Bob Hannah Invitational against Delaware State and Delaware last weekend. The squad sandwiched a 3-0 win against DSU and a 5-3 win against Delaware, around a 4-2 setback against the Blue Hens. Freshmen
Steve Passatempo (Medford, Mass.) and
Chris Sharpe (Burlington, Mass.) led the offense with two home runs and six RBI, both longballs came off the bat of Passatempo.
Andrew Ryan (Rochester, Mass.) threw a seven inning shutout against the Hornets, allowing one hit and striking out 10 for UMass Lowell's first Division I non-conference shutout since 2014. The 10 Ks were also the most by any River Hawk pitcher in the DI era since the program's DI debut.
Leading the FlockPassatempo leads UMass Lowell with five homers and 13 RBI in his first seven career games, followed by Sharpe's five runs batted in.
Zack Tower (Auburn, Mass.) has connected on the other home run.
Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) has been perfect on the base paths, swiping four bases in as many attempts. On the mound, Ryan leads the staff with a 2-0 record with a 0.64 ERA, and 13 strikeouts.

Kendall Pomeroy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) have picked up the other wins for the club.Â
Scouting Santa ClaraThe Broncos (6-6) are in the midst of a two-game skid following 10-9 and 4-1 losses to the Washington Huskies. The offense is spearheaded by John Cresto (4 HR, 6 RBI) and Stevie Berman (3 HR, 10 RBI). Cresto tops the team with a .354 average, 17 hits and 12 runs. Jake Brodt has stolen three bases, while Grant Meylan has worked seven walks. Jason Seever rides a 2-0 record with a 2.04 ERA in 17 2/3 innings into the weekend. Mitchell Wright leads the staff wtih a 2.04 ERA in over 20 innings.Â
