LOWELL, Mass. -
The UMass Lowell men's basketball team, who is currently 11-15 overall and 7-6 in America East play, will look to extend its three-game win streak at New Hampshire on Wednesday, February 17 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Logan Primerano set a new career high with 29 points, as UMass Lowell defeated America East opponent UMBC, 96-92 on Feb. 14 at Costello Athletic Center. Primerano went a personal-best, 16-for-17 from the line in the contest. Redshirt sophomore Jahad Thomas added 23 points on the day, giving him three consecutive games with 20+ points for the first time in his career. Freshman Isaac White finished with 15 points to round out the double-digit scorers, while senior Mark Cornelius totaled a team-high eight rebounds. Although the River Hawks led for the majority of the game, the Retrievers pulled in front with just over five minutes remaining. However, sophomore Matt Harris gave UMass Lowell the lead for good on a long ball with 2:31 to play.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Through 26 games in 2015-16, Jahad Thomas leads the squad with 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, in addition to 34 steals on the year. Isaac White follows with 11.5 points per game and a team-best 44.1 shooting percentage (64-145) from beyond the arc, while Matt Harris averages 10.8 points with a 89.4 clip (42-47) from the foul line. Junior Tyler Livingston chips in with 7.7 points, and redshirt freshman Josh Gantz is first on the team with 23 blocks. As a whole, UMass Lowell is shooting 47.1 percent (723-1536) from the floor, 37.4 percent (222-594) from beyond the arc and 68.4 percent (346-506) on free throws.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
New Hampshire enters Wednesday's contest with a 15-10 overall record and an 8-4 mark in conference action after splitting a pair of decisions last week. The Wildcats defeated Albany in a thrilling, 69-68 victory at home on Feb. 11, before dropping a 59-58 heartbreaker at Stony Brook on Feb 14. Sophomore Tanner Leissner is first on the squad with 16.3 points per game, while junior Jaleen Smith is leading the team in steals (24), blocks (12) and assists (76), and adding 12.8 points per game. So far this season, New Hampshire is posting 71.7 points per game and shooting 42.7 percent (627-1469) from the field, including 34.0 percent (163-480) beyonce the arc, and 70.0 percent (375-536) from the line.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's contest marks the sixth meeting between UMass Lowell and New Hampshire in the sport of men's basketball. The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 4-1, including a last-second, 78-76 win when the team's met earlier this year on Jan. 21.

ACHIEVEMENTS UNLOCKED
On Feb. 14 against UMBC, Mark Cornelius attained 400 career points. Cornelius also recorded his 100th career assist and 50th career steal against  Binghamton on Jan. 24. Previously this year, Tyler Livingston reached the 500 point milestone and Jahad Thomas logged his 300th career rebound at Hartford on Feb. 3. In the team's win at UMBC on Jan. 16, Matt Harris reached 400 career points and Livingston achieved 200 rebounds. Additionally, Thomas surpassed 500 points against Maine on Jan. 13, as well.

ON A ROLL
With the River Hawks' win against UMBC on Feb. 14, the team has now won three in a row, marking its longest win streak of the season. It also matches the program's most consecutive wins in league play since joining the America East in 2013-14.

PUT IT ON THE BOARD
The River Hawks logged back-to-back games with 100 points for the first time in program history in their most recent victories against Vermont on Feb. 8 and Maine on Feb. 11. Those decisions also marked UMass Lowell's first ever 100-point performances against Division I opponents. The squad's 108 points at Maine was the most points in a single game since 2011 (109 vs. Concordia), as well.

SEEING 20/20
Jahad Thomas recorded three consecutive 20-point games for the first time in his career last week, including a career-high 27 points against Vermont on Feb. 8. Logan Primerano has joined Thomas with at least 20 points in the team's most recent two contests with a personal-best 29 points against UMBC on Feb. 14.

MAKING HISTORY
On Feb. 14 against UMBC, Logan Primerano went 16-for-17 at the foul line. He became the first player to sink 16 free throws since Carl Brune did so in 1959 against Merrimack.

A THREAT ON THREES
UMass Lowell is strong from beyond the arc for the second straight season. The team posted a season-high 16 threes at Maine on Feb. 11, marking the most for the program since Feb. 8, 2003 (18, vs. Merrimack). The squad is currently first in the America East for 3FG percentage (37.4) and second for 3FGs made (8.5). On Feb. 6, Isaac White became the first River Hawk to knock down six three-pointers in a game since 2012 (Matt Welch vs Philadelphia) and on Feb. 11, Matt Harris became the first player to hit seven since 2008 (Kevin Carr vs. Post). Through 25 games, White paces the team with 60 three-pointers.

ON-TARGET
The River Hawks are shooting well from the floor this year, boasting a league-best 12 games shooting at least 50.0 percent. The team currently owns a 47.1 field goal percentage that puts them third in the league.

ROAD WARRIORS
The River Hawks play 17 of their 29 games in 2015-16 away from friendly confines. The non-conference road schedule shaped up to be the team's hardest yet in the Division I,  especially with seven of eight games on the road from Dec. 3-30. The team, who sits at 5-10 in away games so far, has accumulated an 87-103 road record since 2003-04.

CHANGING IDENTITY
Following the high-scoring thriller against Sacred Heart on Nov. 18, Coach Duquette commented that this year's team has a different identity from his teams in the past because they have the ability to score a lot of points, whereas his squads are typically defensively oriented. So far this season, the River Hawks are averaging 77.5 points per game (first in the AE), compared to 61.4 points in 2014-15.

HELPING HANDS
On Nov. 24 against Wheelock, UMass Lowell recorded 25 assists as a team for the first time since 2009, when the team posted 32 against Division II Mercy (11/15/09). Jahad Thomas  logged a single-game high for the team this year with seven helpers at Boston College on Dec. 6. and at UConn on Dec. 20. As a whole, the River Hawks are second in the America East with 15.0 assists per game.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
UMass Lowell has earned several last-minute wins already this year for an 8-2 record in games decided by six points or less, as well as a 2-0 mark in overtime games. Since 2014-15, 16 of the squad's most recent 22 wins have been decided by 10 points or less, including 15 by seven points or less. The team has even trailed in the second half in 16 games before battling back to earn the victories.

HOARDING THE BOARDS
With more size in the lineup this year, the River Hawks are focusing on pulling down more rebounds. In the team's win against Cornell on Nov. 29, the squad grabbed a season-high 46 boards, a number they beat just once in 2014-15. UMass Lowell is averaging 33.0 rebounds per game compared to 28.9 rebounds last year. Additionally, the team has already outrebounded its opponent nine times in 2015-16, surpassing the total number of times its did so during all of 2014-15.
