LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team was named a 2015 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Honor Squad.
"We are extremely proud of our young team's efforts in the classroom during our inaugural season," said Head Coach
Carissa Medeiros. "To have a team comprised mostly of first-year college athletes achieve this great honor is something special. With all of the trials and tribulations that come with building a program from the ground up, our girls were still focused on being the best student-athletes they could be, and this accolade proves it."
The River Hawks were one of 83 Division I teams that earned a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, and the only first-year program.
UMass Lowell will enter its second year of play in the America East in the spring of 2016.
