River Hawk RecapThe River Hawks dropped their second consecutive home game last Saturday as they were defeated 14-6 by Wagner. Sophomore
Sam Klingsporn (Aloha, Ore.) scored three goals in the contest and freshman
Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.) added two goals. For the third consecutive game, sophomore goalie
Giles Ober (Southborough, Mass.) registered double-digit saves with 11 in the contest.
Klinging to the ScoresheetSam Klingsporn has netted five goals on the season for the River Hawks, the second most on the team. He is the only player to have scored in each game this season.
First Half FirepowerThe River Hawks have done most of their offensive damage in the first half this season. 30 of their 46 goals so far have been scored in the opening 30 minutes.
Youth MovementWith the rebirth of the program, UMass Lowell are team made up of mostly underclassmen. The River Hawks roster fields 27 freshmen, eight sophomores and one junior.
Scouting NJITLike the River Hawks, the Highlanders are playing their first season of Division I Men's Lacrosse in 2015. Head Coach Travis Johnson has a roster consisting of 23 freshmen, one sophomore and one senior. The Highlanders lost their third consecutive game to start the season on Tuesday falling 17-10 against Vermont at home. Freshmen Tyler Baggett and John Roach lead the team with six points apiece while freshman Joe Lomeli paces the team with five goals.
