Anxious to return to the diamond after what will be a 12-day break between games, the UMass Lowell baseball team travels to William & Mary this weekend for a three game series.Â
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKSThe River Hawks split the series when they played last, beating Georgia State 9-2 in the finale of a four-game set. The team bats were locked in as they picked up 35 hits and scored 26 runs over the four games. SeniorsÂ

Nick Kuzia made their first career starts on the mound for the River Hawks. DeGroot and Veilleux each picked up the decision as DeGroot gave up one earned run on four hits over seven innings while Veilleux was dominant in his six innings, putting away 20 of the 25 Panthers he faced. He gave up two hits and one run while striking out two.

SCOUTING THE TRIBEWilliam & Mary enters the series with a 4-4 record after getting swept in a doubleheader at Campbell on Wednesday. The Tribe gave up a three runs in the sixth and two more in seventh as the Camels rallied to win the first game 10-6 before falling 8-5 in the nightcap. First baseman Charlie Gould headlines the W&M lineup, hitting .464 with 13 hits, 2 HR and 12 RBI. The Tribe lost 19 and return nine members from last years team who claimed the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season crown but fell short in the CAA championship game.
ALL-TIME SERIESThis marks the second meeting between the River Hawks and the Tribe. The clubs met last season in Williamsburg with William & Mary claiming a 16-4 triumph behind Michael Katz's two homeruns and five RBI. Center fielder

MENDICK STARTS HOTSeniorÂ
Danny Mendick was named the America East Player of the Week on February 24th after hitting a sizzling .462 at the plate (6-13) while batting in six runs. Mendick had three doubles and reached base safely in all four ballgames while playing error-free ball at shortstop. He is also tied for the league-lead in batting average, RBI and doubles.
