Lowell, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team returns to action for their second consecutive home game against Wagner on February 28.

River Hawk Recap
In their inaugural Division I home game, UMass Lowell were on the wrong end of a 13-9 score against Siena last Saturday. Despite never leading, the River Hawks competed for all 60 minutes and outscored the Saints in the second half. Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.) played a part in the team's first five goals and finished with four goals and two assists. Sophomore goalie Giles Ober (Southborough, Mass.) recorded 11 saves and freshman Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alberta) registered three points (2g,1a).

Locking Down After Half
UMass Lowell has been a far stronger defensive team after the halftime whistle. Of the 32 goals they've allowed this season, just nine have been yielded in the second half.

Jonny on the Spot
After his strong showing on Saturday, Jon Phillips has become the team leader in a handful of categories. Phillips leads the team in goals (4), assists (3), points (7) and shots (11).

Youth Movement
With the rebirth of the program, UMass Lowell are team made up of mostly underclassmen. The River Hawks roster fields 27 freshmen, eight sophomores and one junior.

Scouting Wagner
The Seahawks are in the midst of a three-game road trip and are in search of their first win of the season. Wagner dropped their season opener 10-5 against Lafayette and are coming off a 13-10 setback on Tuesday at Rutgers. Freshman Andre Streilein leads the team with five points while freshman Billy Orme and redshirt sophomore Patrick McMenamin each have four a piece.

Head Coach Ed Stephenson on Wagner
"We're excited for another great challenge this weekend.  The guys are working hard to improve each week."
