VESTAL, N.Y. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team, who is currently 9-12 overall and 3-5 in America East action, enters its lone game of the week at Binghamton on Saturday looking to snap a four-game skid.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTONThe Bearcats are looking for their second straight conference win after defeating UMBC, 68-56, their last time out. Overall, Binghamton sits at 3-20 and 2-6 in the America East. Dusan Perovic and Willie Rodriguez lead the offense with 11.5 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. Rodriguez also controls the glass with 5.3 rebounds per game. Marlon Beck II has a team-high 2.5 assists per game, and has hit 29 three-pointers. As a unit, the Bearcats are shooting 39.0% (456-1168) from the field, and 29.8% (120-403) from long range.
SERIES HISTORYSaturday's contest marks the ninth meeting ever between UMass Lowell and Binghamton in the sport of men's basketball. The River Hawks lead the all-time series, 7-1. When the two squads faced off earlier this season on Jan. 2, the River Hawks earned a 50-40 comeback victory.
TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORTSeven of the squad's nine wins so far have been decided by 10 points or less, including five by seven points or less. The team even trailed in the second half in six games this year before battling back to earn the victories. Â
SUPERIOR SUBSAt UMBC on Jan. 7, UMass Lowell's bench players outscored the Retrievers', 51-1, to help the team come back to earn the overtime victory. The River Hawks' reserves have been pivotal this year, outscoring their opponents, 474-336. That's an average of +6.6 points per game.
STEALING THE SHOWThe River Hawks are second in the AE with 6.7 steals per game.
Marco Banegas-Flores, who posted a career-high four steals at Rhode Island, is second in the league with 1.9 per game and leads the team with 37 total. The team logged 15 steals at NJIT on Nov. 22 for the first time since reaching the mark against Adelphi on January 11, 2012.
