Lowell, Mass. – The UMass Lowell hockey team officially unveiled their first-ever alternate graphite jersey at a special uniform launch party at University Crossing on Tuesday evening.
Â
The new uniforms, which will be debuted against Providence on Friday, January 23, 2015, feature a never before used design as a uniform crest for the River Hawks. The style is consistent with the team's new Under Armour look, unveiled for the 2014-2015 season, though the graphite is new to the River Hawk repertoire.
"I'm excited to be a part of history on dawning this new third jersey," said senior captain
Zack Kamrass. "I can't wait to pull on the sweater this Friday in front of a rowdy crowd at the Tsongas Center."
The River Hawk uniform launch featured the debut of the new alternate uniforms while paying homage to uniforms throughout the program's history. Fans who attended had the first opportunity to purchase the new Under Armour alternate jerseys and other merchandise.
Â
Jerseys can be purchased at the River Hawk Shop at University Crossing, online at RiverHawkShop.com and at all home hockey games. The first 200 jerseys purchased will include a special commemorative gift.
UMass Lowell is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation with a 15-5-3 record (8-2-2 Hockey East). CoachÂ
Norm Bazin's squad will kick off the second half of their home slate against the Friars on NESN.
Â
"I liked them, they look very slick," said Scott Kaplan, a 15-year season ticket holder. "I'm used to the red, white and blue so the graphite color is different and a good change of pace and I'm looking forward to getting one of my own."
Tickets for the January 23 game and all remaining home games are available now through the Tsongas Center Box Office, online at TsongasCenter.com or by calling 866-722-8780.
