Listen to UMass Lowell's New Fight Song
LOWELL, Mass. -- UMass Lowell unveiled its first-ever fight song at Tuesday's Convocation ceremony at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. The fight song, entitled
River Hawk Pride, was created by long-time Director of University Bands Dan Lutz (music) and Associate Director Deb Huber (lyrics).
Â
River Hawk Pride is the first official fight song in the University's long history in Lowell.
Â
"I am thrilled that UMass Lowell now has such an exciting fight song," said Director of Athletics Dana Skinner. "A fight song is another important tradition and will serve as a rallying point for the entire University community. On behalf of all of our student-athletes and staff, I extend thanks and gratitude to Deb Huber for writing the lyrics, Dan Lutz for composing the music, and our Division of Student Affairs for coordinating the efforts."

River Hawk Pride
UMass Lowell we will always be,
a team of strength in unity.
With River Hawk pride,Â
we stand side by side;Â
Fight for victory.
Â
Wings unfurled and talons curled,
swoop and strike then we score!
Blue set sail. In flight we won't fail.
Let's go UMass Lowell and soar!
Â
----------------------------
Bird of prey, it's time to fight;Â
so fly with pride in wearing blue.
With fury and fire and burning desire;Â
 Honor our school.
Â
UMass Lowell we'll always be;Â
River Hawks forever more.
Game's in hand, we're best in the land.
Now spread your wings and soar!
