Lowell, Mass. – UMass Lowell Men's Soccer Head Coach Christian Figueroa announced 15 freshmen and four transfers for the 2014 upcoming season.
 
The River Hawks' freshmen class includes three forwards; Paul Beatty (Halifax, Mass.), Cameron Jones (Ossining, N.Y.) and Carlo Tashjian (Hatchville, Mass.). Five midfielders; Jacob Fitzgerald (Pepperell, Mass.), Adam Mooi (Winnipeg, Man.), Emmanuel Morgan (Ware, Mass.), Joel Rodriguez (Meriden, Conn.) and James Thompkins (Plainville, Conn.). Five backs; Joseph Conti (Annapolis, Md.), Trevor Delp (West Newbury, Mass.), Austin Kimball (Exeter, N.H.), Connor McQuillan (Harlow, Essex England) and Noah Teperow (Dracut, Mass.). UMass Lowell also adds two goalies; Austin Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) and Jake Davis (Franklin, Mass.).
 
In addition, Figueroa also adds four transfers. He adds a pair from UMass Amherst, Guilherme Rodrigues (Lowell, Mass.) and Jay Marchand (North Andover, Mass.). In the backfield he adds junior Abel Wasswa (Malden, Mass.), while junior Augusto Trento (Leominster, Mass.) will play midfield. 
 
 "We are very excited to welcome our 2014 recruiting class," said Figueroa. "We feel we have a well-balanced group coming in who are very excited for the transformation that is going on at UMass Lowell." Figueroa goes on to say, "Each of these guys are coming from a competitive environment that has helped them develop and prepare for the challenges of college soccer – and are looking forward to working with them."  
 
The River Hawks finished their first season in NCAA Division I and the America East Conference posting a 3-14-1 overall record and a 1-5-1 conference clip.
