Last night UMass Lowell student-athletes participated in a stress relief fair. The stress relief fair was designed to offer student-athletes a brief respite from the rigors of classes and athletics schedules. The year has been a challenge for many with the increased travel, expectations and demands on their time. The stress relief fair was proposed to offer student-athletes the opportunity to relax, refresh and learn some techniques to help de-stress. With help from student health services, counseling, nutrition, campus recreation and peer mentoring group- Healthy HAWKS; stations were set up around the gymnasium. The most popular stations included the Therapy Dogs and the Massage stations. Student-athletes also learned about healthy eating and sleeping habits, time management and relaxation techniques. They were able to test out mini-yoga classes and top that all off with make-your-own frozen yogurt sundaes.Â
