UMass Lowell Baseball will get back on the diamond, after a nine day layoff, Tuesday afternoon, when they face University of Rhode Island at Bill Beck Field in Kinston, R. I.
The River Hawks and Rams, who saw two weekend games knocked out by unplayable field conditions, are set for to play a single game at 3:00 p.m.
UMass Lowell, who has won five of its first seven games this season, take on a Rhode Island club that won its last time out, ending an eight game losing streak. The Rams are 2-10.

Danny Mendick (Rochester, N.Y.) leads the River Hawks, he has a .440 batting average, five RBI and scored four runs. First baseman junior
Jimmy Ricoy (Lowell, Mass.) has five RBI, four runs and .320 batting average.
Senior
Mike Calzetta (Lawrence, Mass.), pitching both as a starter and out of the bullpen, has yet to allow a run in 9.1 innings this season. Calzetta has 10 strike outs. Senior starter
Shane Beauchemin (Manchester, N.H.) is 1-0, has a 2.77 ERA and has struck out 14.
Rhode Island is led by Tim Caputo .563 batting average. Caputo has three RBI and scored four runs. Lou Distasio is 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA and 10 strikeouts.
