HighlightsLOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell women's volleyball team was defeated by UMBC, 3-0 (19-25, 22-25, 13-25), on Sunday afternoon at Costello Athletic Center in America East play.
With the loss, the River Hawks drop to 2-22 overall (0-7 AE), while UMBC improves to 10-11 (4-4 AE) on the season.
Senior outside hitter
Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes, Calif.) led the team with seven kills and two service aces in the losing effort, while sophomore middle blocker
Elima Ahzi (San Diego, Calif.) notched six kills with an impressive .417 hitting percentage. Junior setter
Kylee Chun (Las Vegas, Nevada) recorded 21 assists running the River Hawks' offense. Freshman defensive specialist

Hannah Rey (San Diego, Calif.) each tallied a team-high 12 digs leading the UMass Lowell effort on defense.
UMass Lowell recorded a match-high 12 kills in the opening set and then followed that up with 11 kills in the middle frame.
The River Hawks return to action for a pair of America East road matches on Friday, October 31 at Binghamton (7pm) and Sunday, November 2 at Albany (2pm).
