LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's soccer team hosts the University of Vermont on October 15, before traveling to Stony Brook for a contest against the Seawolves on October 18.

River Hawk Review
UMass Lowell improved its overall record to 4-8-0 and America East record to 1-1-0 with a 1-0 win against Albany. Augusto Trento (Leominster, Mass.) scored his first goal of the year in the 77th minute.

Flying High
Carlos Ruiz (East Boston, Mass.) leads the offense with two goals and three assists for seven points. Wuilito Fernandes (Praia, Cape Verde) has three goals for six points, and Homero Morais (Somerville, Mass.) also has six points from two goals and two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Austin Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) leads the team with 58 saves and three shutouts. He carries a 1.59 goals against average and a .753 save percentage.

Scouting Vermont
Vermont comes to Cushing Field with a 1-4-1 record in its last seven games with four goals in the span. Brian Wright leads the offense with 17 points off of seven goals and three assists. Brad Cole also has three helpers and added a goal for five points. Conor Leland has made 23 saves in nine starts with a 1.08 goals against average and a .697 save percentage. Ryan Bailey has made three starts and recorded 10 saves, while earning a 1.58 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.

"Coming off a win against a tough Albany group is a good start to a busy week for us. Vermont will be a strong opponent, and they are coming off a good win against a talented Stony Brook side. We'll need to be disciplined once again in order to give ourselves the best opportunity to get a result at home tomorrow night."

Scouting Stony Brook
The Seawolves will travel to Hartford for a mid-week matchup before hosting the River Hawks. Thilbault Duval leads the team with seven points (2g, 3a) in only eight games played. Martin Giordano has a team-high three goals for six points. Tom McMahon has made 11 starts, posting a 1.59 goals against average and a .743 save percentage, with 52 saves. In his only start, Jason Orban made two saves and allowed one goal.

"Stony Brook will be present a good challenge for us. They play a good style and can break you down if you are not prepared. They're currently sitting at 1-1 in the conference like we are, so it will be undoubtedly be an important match for both sides this weekend."
