Box Score
Sophomore Shane Beauchemin (Manchester, N.H.) scattered seven hits, three walks and one earned run and improved to 9-0 to lead UMass Lowell over Bentley University, 3-1, Saturday night in a Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division clash at LeLacheur Park.

With the win, UMass Lowell improved to 29-19 overall and 10-10 in the NE-10 Northeast Division entering Sunday's regular season finale against the Falcons at LeLacheur Park (3:00). The River Hawks need a victory, coupled with a Stonehill win at Merrimack (3:30), to advance to the NE-10 Tournament.

NE-10 Tournament pairings will be announced Sunday night.

Bentley slipped to 26-19 overall and 13-7 in the Northeast Division.

Beauchemin struck out six batters en route to his third complete game of the season.
Senior LF Patrick Devlin (Tewksbury, Mass.) batted 3 for 4 with a solo home run in the sixth inning, which game the River Hawks a 2-0 lead. Sophomore SS Kelly Rooney (Upton, Mass.) went 2 for 4.

Junior RF Tom Nagy and junior SS Will Brennan each batted 2 for 4 to lead Bentley. Senior P Jeff Croteau took the loss as he allowed eight hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out five over 7.0 innings.

UMass Lowell was the beneficiary of four Bentley errors and jumped out to a 1-0 league in the first inning. Freshman RF Joe Consolmagno (Worcester, Mass.) reached on an error and eventually scored when sophomore 2B Matt Sanchez (Sunrise, Fla.) singled off Croteau.

Following Devlin's home run in the sixth, Bentley pulled a run back in the seventh when Nagy tripled to left center and reached home when freshman DH Bryan Rocha grounded to shortstop.

Freshman Louis Tarantino, pinch running for sophomore DH Sam Johnson (Wakefield, R.I.), reached home in the eighth when Rooney singled to shortstop and advanced to second on a throwing error.
