With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 12-7 overall and 0-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division entering Saturday's twin bill against the Ravens (12:00/3:00).

Franklin Pierce improved to 14-9 overall and 4-0 in the NE-10 Northeast Division.

Sophomore 1B Jimmy Ricoy (Lowell, Mass.) batted 2 for 4. Junior P Garrett Cole (Bedford, N.H.) took the loss as he scattered seven hits, five earned runs and five walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings to slip to 1-4.
Junior Trevor Graham (4-0) earned the win for Franklin Pierce as he allowed nine hits, three earned runs and a walk over eight innings.

UMass Lowell trailed 3-1 after two innings, but rallied to knot the score at 3-3 when sophomore SS Geoff DeGroot (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) singled, stole second and reached home on a double by Katsiroubas. Senior 3B Pat Devlin (Tewksbury, Mass.) then singled to score Katsiroubas.

UMass Lowell took a 4-3 edge in the fifth when freshman CF Joe Consolmagno (Worcester, Mass.) and Katsiroubas led off with singles, and Consolmagno scored when Devlin grounded out.

Franklin Pierce, however, put together the game-winning rally in the sixth when sophomore LF John Razzino scored on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded, and sophomore 3B Matt O'Herron followed home on a sacrifice fly by junior CF Calvin Graves.
