ALBANY (Oct. 16, 2013) – The University of Albany broke free from a 1-1 draw with goals in the 66
th and 69
th minutes en route to a 3-1 victory over UMass Lowell Wednesday night in an America East Conference men's soccer match at Bob Ford Field.
With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 2-12-0 overall and 0-3-0 in America East entering Saturday's home clash against Stony Brook (7:00) at Cushing Field.
Albany improved to 3-7-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the Conference and visits Vermont Saturday at 1:00.

Homero Morais (Somerville, Mass.) accounted for UMass Lowell's goal, his team-high fifth of the season.
Albany snatched a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when Brandon Wilson took advantage of a loose ball and fired home from the right side inside the left post.
Morais, however, leveled matters in the 60
th minute when he did well to get behind the Albany defense, only to be denied by freshman GK Eric Orologio. Morais, however, picked up the rebound and tucked into an empty net.
Six minutes later, however, Albany regained the lead when junior M Te Anau Pomare served a ball to the back post, which freshman F Leonardo Rodriguez headed home. The Great Danes added an insurance goal in the 69
th when sophomore F Philip Persson served a corner to the near post, where senior B Thomas Manz converted out of a scramble.
Pomare nearly scored a fourth for Albany a minute later, but was denied by the post.
Albany outshot UMass Lowell 20-9 overall and 5-4 on target. Senior GK
Chris Maierle (Wantagh, N.Y.) had three saves while Orologio also stopped three shots.
