Having played to five splits, including three straight, UMass Lowell looks for its first sweep of the season this afternoon as it opens at home with a pair against Bentley University this afternoon at River View Field.
Offensively, UMass Lowell is off to a dream start with 91 RBI, 22 home runs and 41 stolen bases (52 attempts). Nationally, the River Hawks rank 17th among home run leaders; 18th among stolen base leaders; and 24th in slugging (.503).
After going 4-1 at the Catawba Softball Invitational and 8-5 in Clermont, Fla., UMass Lowell opened its regional schedule at Saint Anselm Saturday where it defeated the Hawks 8-4 in the opener but suffered a 12-5 loss in the nightcap.

Elyssa Boris led the way as she batted 4 for 7 with two doubles, one run and one RBI. She also earned the win in the first game, scattering six hits, two earned runs and a walk while striking out a season-high 12. She took the loss, however, in the second game, allowing five hits, five earned runs and two walks while striking out two.
Bentley enters today's games having lost four straight and eight of its last nine games, the latest 9-1 and 7-4 losses at home to Saint Anselm and 10-2/3-0 losses at Franklin Pierce.
