Movember isn't just an excuse to grow some awesome facial hair. For the UMass Lowell River Hawks, it's serious business.
The River Hawks use the month as an opportunity to raise money and awareness towards the fight against neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that mostly affects children and infants. Last year, the team adopted a child fighting the disease, who attended practices and games with Lowell — the team calls him their “little brother.”
It's all part of a wider initiative to link college hockey teams with children fighting cancer, so check out a report about the River Hawks from NESN.com's Alexandra Grace.
